|I first played a Munro game in the early 1940s, or perhaps even the
late thirties, at home in Hamilton, Ontario. I would have been 8 or 10
at time. This ad that appeared in the T. Eaton Co. catalogue is part of
those memories. Note the sexist line "HE SHOOTS! HE
SCORES!" In this and other Munro ads, girls were never depicted
playing - only watching, as you can see in the second advertisement. .
In truth, many girls of the time played the game as fervently as their
